Artist statement: In my work, I use a variety of mediums to construct my collage works such as inkjet prints, insulation boards, wood, and spray paint. I use a wide range of photographs I have taken and cut the photographs out by hand. From there, I create a collage that reflects my feelings and views on the topic I am addressing.
Meet Isabel Sanchez
Isabel Sanchez is a Houston-Based artist whose work focuses on personal experience that deal with identity, religion, and culture. She is currently working with a photographic collage that addresses those issues and feelings she has towards those experiences. Her current work, The Body and Blood Altarpiece, focuses on her experience as a woman and the attitudes towards men and women who have subjected her to feelings of insecurity and objectification.
